To Do Lists

I’m thinking that I need a to do list. I’ve been putting some stuff off because I got married last weekend and it didn’t seem to be a perfect time to market my practice if I were taking some time off. Next month we have a honeymoon and the following month I will be covering another acupuncturist’s practice while she goes to China and Thailand.

However, in both cases, I now feel I have more time and energy to spend on my practice. I’ve had a couple of therapists and a chiropractor that I’ve wanted to approach to let them know what I do. There is also a medical spa that opened about six months ago that I’m interested in visiting to get cards to as well.

When I first opened my business, visiting other practitioners was hard for me. I find that it gets easier, but there is a mindset that I have to be in. I must be excited about my business and excited about talking about it. If I’m distracted it doesn’t work so well. I also have to be interested in the people I’m talking to. In all cases the referrals can work both ways and the more excited I am, the more questions I have for the other practitioner about the type of person they most enjoy seeing.
